| Workspace | Your lab or program boundary in EpistaBase. |
| Project | A research goal that groups experiments, data, reports, and collaborators. |
| Experiment | One scientific question and its reproducible record. |
| Run | One execution of an assay or protocol. |
| Sample | Biological material from a run. |
| File | Uploaded object plus processing status and metadata. |
| Data entry | The scientific meaning of a file or parsed dataset inside an experiment. |
| Catalog asset | Governed data, figure, table, document, or analysis object that can be accessed and traced. |
| Lineage | Edges that connect outputs back to inputs, analyses, and records. |
| Flow workspace | Saved flow cytometry analysis state: samples, gates, plot settings, statistics. |
| Protocol snapshot | The exact published protocol version captured by an experiment. |
| Analysis session | Live compute session, usually a notebook, opened from the Analysis app. |
| Published artifact | Figure or table promoted from analysis into the experiment record. |
| Provenance Explorer | Optional workspace surface for searching artifacts and inspecting lineage. |
biolake | The Python SDK package name used in notebooks and scripts. |
